Making Michigan an attractive place for the young
Here is Michigan's economic challenge of the century: Far too many young, highly educated people are
leaving our state. Our children and grandchildren are graduating from Michigan colleges and universities
and moving to places with certain lifestyle amenities not found here. Leaving with them are the skills and
talents suitable for the jobs that are paying high wages in the industries that are thriving in the new

Michigan Future Inc. to tackle public policy issues in the state, he already has a clear image of

Not just any job will keep college grads in Michigan

Inspire grads to stay in Michigan
Lou Glazer hears it all the time.
The president and cofounder of the Michigan Future Inc. think tank will often be talking with an
audience about what's right and wrong with the state economy when a parent in the crowd will
complain that his or her newly graduated son or daughter had to leave the state to find work.
Later in the same session, a business owner will gripe about not being able to find qualified
